5G Wireless Solutions to Leverage Campus Wi-Fi Expertise at California State University Academic Technology Conference

Cal State University Long Beach (CSULB) Case to Be Presented to 22 Other Csu Campuses at Invitation-Only Industry Event

Marina del Rey, CA – March 9, 2005 -- 5G Wireless Solutions, Inc., an emerging leader in the wireless broadband industry and a wholly-owned subsidiary of 5G Wireless Communications, Inc. (OTCBB:FGWC), today reported that it will be sponsoring and speaking at the annual Community of Academic Technology Staff (CATS) Conference being held in Sacramento, CA March 23-25, 2005.

'This is a perfect opportunity to leverage our experience at one of the largest campuses in the state to a captive audience of other campuses in the Cal State system," stated Peter Mansfield, 5G Wireless Solutions VP of Marketing. "We anticipate other campuses in the system will also adopt our proven, cost effective model after hearing about CSULB."

The CSULB broadband wireless network, launched last September, will ultimately become available throughout 84 permanent buildings and outdoors over 323 acres. When completed, the network will allow students and faculty to connect to the internet with standard 802.11b/g Wi-Fi PC cards from virtually any part of the campus. One of the hallmarks of this particular installation is that 5G is able to cover the campus using only four rooftop base stations, while a competitive solution would have required in excess of 400 individual access points.

The company's high performance/low cost solution utilizes an "outside-in" approach with Non-Line-of-Sight (NLOS) signal penetration to provide campus-wide access without excess equipment. Lower equipment, installation and network administration costs translate to a reduced cost per sq. ft. of wireless coverage, and an overall lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

CATS is a collaborative community of IT professionals spread throughout the 23 California State University (CSU) campuses, the largest state system of higher education in the country. Its primary goal is to support its members, both individually and collectively, in increasing their knowledge, productivity, and professional effectiveness in service of their institution's academic technology goals. CATS provides organized programs, communications and technological infrastructures, resources and strategic opportunities for its members to collaborate and contribute to each other's objectives. All programs support the objectives of the CSU-wide Integrated Technology Strategy.

5G Wireless Solutions will present UCLA and CSULB case studies and capabilities to 220 IT professionals expected to attend. As a Platinum Sponsor, the company will also participate as a luncheon sponsor and exhibitor. Other sponsors at this invitation only event include Dell (NASDAQ: DELL - News), Adobe (NASDAQ: ADBE - News), Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL - News), IBM (NYSE: IBM - News), and several other multinational technology companies.
