5G Wireless Solutions Network Operating at Hunterdon Care Center -- Handheld Wireless Devices Help To Improve Operational Efficiency and Quality of Care

Marina del Rey, CA – April 19, 2005 -- 5G Wireless Solutions, Inc., an emerging leader in the wireless broadband industry and a portfolio company of 5G Wireless Communications, Inc. (OTCBB:FGWC), announced today that the Hunterdon Care Center in Flemington, N.J. has successfully implemented its broadband wireless network throughout the entire facility.

The wireless network is integrated with a new configurable software protocol from O'Connor Informatics Group, one of 5G Wireless Solutions' channel partners. The software package assesses residents' current conditions and types of services required, then tracks completion of nursing tasks and makes this data immediately available to management. By facilitating documentation and data-sharing, the network helps improve operational efficiency and addresses new healthcare regulations. The network also makes wireless internet access available to any resident or guest desiring to get online.

"Following the success of the DeWitt Rehabilitation Center in New York, the Hunterdon installation went up very quickly," stated Peter Mansfield, 5G Wireless Solutions VP of Marketing. "Six indoor Access Stations provide 99% coverage throughout three residential wings, a nurses control station and large dining room. We have leveraged these case studies and several other facilities are already in our pipeline. We look forward to making rapid inroads into the healthcare market."

Hunterdon Care Center is a 183-bed Medicare and Medicaid certified facility, licensed by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services. In addition to traditional skilled care, the facility provides two rehabilitation units: a 14-bed unit and a 23-bed unit for short-term specialized care.

"We're delighted with the 5G network," stated Hunterdon Care Center CEO, Gary Nagle. "We looked at several alternatives, and they offered a high quality solution at the lowest available cost. We've only begun to discover the utility of our new wireless infrastructure in this highly regulated and information intense field. Our nurses are being held increasingly responsible for the precision of data reporting, and handheld wireless devices are essential in this regard. As these data sets directly impact our compensation reimbursements, this new technology package will significantly enhance both our business operations and the quality of life for those in our care."

Hunterdon is a member of the Health Care Association of New Jersey (, a non-profit trade association dedicated to enhancing long term healthcare, and the American Health Care Association (, advocating quality in long term care. According to the American Health Care Association, there are currently 16,000 nursing facilities serving 1.4 million patients in the U.S. For years, long-term care practitioners have created paper-driven care plans in an attempt to present an accurate picture of a resident's daily needs and quality of life. But paper-driven systems often preclude efficient data sharing and updating, which are critical in maintaining quality.
