5G Wireless Solutions Profiled at and in University Business Magazine

Marina del Rey, CA – March 7, 2005 -- 5G Wireless Solutions, Inc., an emerging leader in the wireless broadband industry and a wholly-owned subsidiary of 5G Wireless Communications, Inc. (OTCBB:FGWC), today reported two recent samples of general business and vertical trade media coverage.

5G Wireless Successfully Launches Wi-Fi Technology for New York City Nursing Center" was featured in a February 10 column on

The story describes the successful installation of a wireless network at the upscale DeWitt Rehabilitation and Nursing Center ( on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, and details how the 5G Solutions platform effectively leverages its superior range and "outside-in," non-line-of-sight (NLOS) capabilities to create a Wi-Fi Hotzone™ throughout the 17 story building. Using only 7 indoor access points, 5G is able to achieve the same coverage as the next nearest competitor who would have required 3 access points per floor, or a total of 54, to cover the building. Aidan Keane, IT Director for the DeWitt Center, is quoted as stating, "5G's ability to do more with less was the key determining factor in awarding them this contract."

The article describes the sizable opportunity this vertical market represents. According to the American Health Care Association (, there are currently 16,000 nursing facilities serving 1.4 million patients in the U.S. For years, long-term care practitioners have created paper-driven care plans in an attempt to present an accurate picture of a resident's daily needs and quality of life. But paper-driven systems often preclude efficient data sharing and updating, which are critical in maintaining quality. Since the long-term care industry is one of the most highly regulated and information intense fields in the U.S. today, it represents a perfect candidate for low cost/high performance wireless solutions. With nurses being held increasingly responsible for the precision of data reporting, handheld wireless devices are becoming essential. And, as these data sets directly impact a facility's level of compensation, wireless technology can significantly enhance both business operations and the quality of life for those in their care.

The company was also featured in the February, 2005 issue of University Business ( magazine in a story entitled, "Do You Hear Me Now?" The piece describes how university It departments are deploying innovative wireless services that expand campus-wide communications capabilities. 5G Wireless Solutions' Campus-Wide Area Networks™ (C-WANs) are identified as an industry-leading example of delivering "greater connectivity with fewer headaches." The company's UCLA Anderson School of Business ( client is profiled in a case study illustrating how effective network management can result when a minimum of equipment is required to achieve campus-wide wireless coverage. 5G's "less is more" value proposition is summed up in the statement, "To a network manager, having a hundred access points is like having a hundred computers -- a hundred things can go wrong. Having just a few is far easier to maintain."

The University Business article describes 5G's unique ClassAct wireless option, which allows any designated classroom the ability to restrict wireless internet access with the flip of a standard wall switch. In response to professors expressing concern over students surfing the web undetected during lectures, the company designed a custom solution that enables a "cold classroom in a hot zone."
