MARINA DEL REY, CA - Dec 20, 2005 - 5G Wireless Solutions, Inc., an emerging leader in the wireless broadband industry and a wholly owned subsidiary of 5G Wireless Communications, Inc. (OTC BB:FGWI.OB - News), announced today that it has launched its newest wireless broadband base station product,
capable of functioning in both 802.11b and 802.11g modes.
The G-Force 850 delivers throughput speeds of up to 54 Mbps, the fastest speed available for any such product on the market today. It also provides maximum area coverage from a single base station unit with an operating range of up to 2 kilometers to any wirelessly-enabled laptop or PDA.
"The 850 represents a new generation of wireless networking equipment that should exceed even the most demanding customer expectations," stated Jerry Dix, 5G Wireless Communications' CEO. "We've maximized both speed and distance potential, while adding a whole host of new management features and security options."
An easy-to-use web interface provides new levels of remote management and maintenance capabilities. Utilizing advanced security technology, the system can enable different security levels for different users offering WEP, WPA and WPA2 standards. The "cellular-style" antenna array features exceptional NLOS (Non-Line-of Sight) "outside-in" signal penetration that renders the need for many existing indoor access points obsolete. And with easy installation, often
deployed right alongside existing cellular telecom equipment, the 850 results in one of the lowest overall TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) measures in the industry. Its minimal hardware requirements also reduce the number of power and cable runs, and the time these take to implement.
All customer orders placed between December 20, 2005 and January 31, 2006, will receive the new 802.11b/g units at the old 802.11b price. The new equipment will be marketed to college campuses and small to midsize cities, and will also be promoted to public safety organizations, parks & recreational facilities, sports venues, shipping and enterprise facilities.
"Utilizing the network architecture of the cellular carriers, which has proven successful for many years, we've taken the inherent advantages of this deployment strategy and applied them to toady's fixed broadband wireless networks," added Mr. Dix. "We feel certain this is the best way a nationwide network could be built."
