broadband industry and a portfolio company of 5G Wireless
Communications, Inc. (OTCBB: FGWC),
announced today that it has been invited to speak at the GCN
(Government Computer News) Wireless Conference June 7 & 8 in
This year’s theme, “Wireless Solutions:
Enhancing Mobility, Logistics, Communications and Mission Delivery”
is expected to attract over 150 top-level federal government IT
professionals to the Ronald Reagan Building, next door to The White
House. Carl Weisman, 5G Wireless Solutions Sr. Engineer, will
present strategies for high performance/low cost wireless
infrastructure deployments derived from several 5G venue-specific
case studies. He will join such distinguished speakers as Dr. Ronald
Jost, Director of Wireless Technology, U.S. Department of Defense;
Robert C. West, Chief Information Security Officer, U.S. Department
of Homeland Security; and several high ranking officers of the Army,
Navy, and Air Force.
“What’s exciting about this conference is the
list of heavy hitters scheduled to appear as speakers,” stated Frank
Simonelli, 5G Wireless’ Vice President of Communications. “From a
branding perspective, speaker placements such as this provide a
leadership opportunity for the company to reach a highly targeted
set of prospects in a credible, captive environment. We are also now
in a position to leverage our recent General Services Administration
certification, enabling us to immediately bid on any government
contract. And, the fact that GCN sought us out, and offered us a
keynote slot, means we’re achieving success in elevating the 5G
Wireless Solutions brand name within the industry.”
Mr. Weisman will also host a book signing
event during the conference proceedings, offering “The Essential
Guide to RF & Wireless,” (Prentice Hall, 2002), which is becoming
one of the industry’s standard texts. He started his career at
Hughes Aircraft Company as a design engineer working on radar for
fighter aircraft. During his nine-year service there, he was awarded
the Hughes Fellowship, which enabled him to pursue an MSEE from the
University of Southern California. He then spent eight years working
in sales and marketing of RF and wireless hardware for several
companies, including Avantek-Hewlett Packard and M/A-COM-AMP. He
also received an MBA from Loyola Marymount University.
